OpenType

With OpenType, the concurring font formats PostScript and TrueType have been bundled to a new standard independent from the opertaing system. OpenType fonts with an ending *.ttf contain bézier curves, while *.ttf means the usage of algorithms as in TrueType, what are quadratic splines. One and the same single OpenType font is running without any modification on Windows, Mac, Linux and UNIX.
