The basic idea is to combine a world model with a time axis from out of the center. Like an onion there are different shapes for different time intervals. The geographical points are related by their coordinates with a corresponding database. Here all relevant information is stored. The content of the website is hosted in a CMS (Content Management System) called Typo3. Global Type is an open content project, underlying the Creative Commons Licence.
